What is Liquipel?

Liquipel is a super-hydrophobic intelligent coating which bonds to all internal and external components of a device on the molecular level. Our technology was specially engineered to protect the vital components of electronics from accidental liquid damage and corrosion. Liquipel is 1000 times thinner than a human hair and does not affect the look, feel, or performance of your electronic device in any way.

My device has been treated with Liquipel. Can I take it swimming or surfing?

No, the Liquipel treatment is a preventative coating and is meant to protect the internal, vital components of electronics from liquid corrosion in the event of accidental liquid exposure. Just as you would not intentionally throw your device on the ground after purchasing a protective case, you would not want to intentionally submerge your device in liquid after having Liquipel applied.

What do you mean when you say “accidental liquid exposure”?

Accidental liquid exposure refers to the situations that cause most electronics to become damaged. Liquipel was designed as a preventative coating to help guard against rain, spills, baby drool and occasional, short term submersion such as the sink or toilet (although we hope you never find out). These scenarios comprise the common ways that electronics are damaged.

If my device is accidentally exposed to liquid after being treated by Liquipel what do I do?

Do not panic! Please follow the directions that we included with your device upon return. You may also view our Preventative Steps page at www.liquipel.com/preventative-steps.

Does the Liquipel coating affect my headphone jack and charging ports or the quality of my speakers?

The Liquipel coating permeates the device as a whole, therefore protecting internal and external components such as the headphone jack, charging port, and speakers. Our technology does not distort sound quality, or affect the performance and functionality of your device in any way, as the Liquipel coating is 1000 times thinner than a human hair and is bonded to your device on a molecular level. Our unique coating allows electrical currents to transfer back and forth when there is a direct connection. In other words, you are able to charge your device, use headphones, access micro USB or SIM cards and use your speakers just as you did before.

What address should I ship my device to once I have purchased Liquipel?

Please send your device to our corporate location at the address listed below. We ask that you please reference your Order Number, whether it be on the shipping label or on the package itself.

Do I need to back up my device prior to shipping my device?

Yes, we recommend backing up your device prior to shipping your device to us for treatment.

Do You Offer a Drop-Off Service?

We offer a drop off service for local customers Monday through Friday at our Santa Ana location.

How long will it take for me to receive my device back?

We are committed to making sure that customers devices are processed as quickly as possible and the average processing time is no more than two days. Generally we are able to have a device treated and shipped back to the customer within one to two business days of receiving it. If the order is not completed and shipped out the same day that we receive it, then it will be shipped out the following business day. The total turnaround time also depends on this shipping option that you choose when purchasing Liquipel (Ground, 2nd Day Air or Priority Overnight). Please note that the shipping you purchase when placing your order is for the return only.

How do I order Liquipel? Where do I ship my device?

To purchase the Liquipel service for your device please visit www.liquipel.com/product-category/treatment and complete the checkout process. Once you have placed your order you will receive an order confirmation via email which will include your order information. Please print out the order confirmation and include it with your device upon shipment.

In the order confirmation email there will also be a link to a page where you can register your device for our warranty and view step-by-step shipping instructions including our shipping address (www.liquipel.com/get-started). When you are ready to send out your device you may take it into the shipping carrier of your choice (FedEx, UPS, or USPS) and once you have covered the cost of shipping to us, they will provide you with a shipping label and you may send out your device. What does it mean when my order status is listed as “processing”?

The “Processing” status means that your order has been submitted, but that we have not received your device(s) yet. Once we have received your device(s), we will check them in and the status will change to “Received.”

Where is the nearest Liquipel retailer?

Our only location within the US at this time is our corporate headquarters in Southern California. We understand that most of our customers are not local so we make the shipping and treatment process as quick and easy as possible. We are able to coat a device within 24 business hours after receiving it. The total turnaround time generally depends more on the shipping options customers choose to and from our facility.
